Industry Councillor
Arlette Rwigemera, Ph.D. is a scientific researcher specialized in cell biology at NuChem Sciences. Her research interests are mainly oriented towards human health.
Arlette earned her Ph.D. in biology from the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS)-Centre Armand-Frappier Santé Biotechnologie in Laval (QC, Canada) in 2020. Under the guidance of her director, Dr. Geraldine Delbès, she investigated the impact of an estrogenic environmental pollutant on male fertility by assessing its effect on fetal testicular development and particularly on fetal germ cell epigenome.
Before enrolling in a Ph.D. program, Arlette completed her master’s degree in biology at the University of Moncton (NB, Canada) where she studied the anticancer properties of two carotenoids, Fucoxanthin and Fucoxanthinol on breast cancer.
The research work she carried out during her academical course resulted in four scientific papers as the principal author. Currently, she is developing biological tests allowing the screening of future drugs at Nuchem Sciences.
