Marc-André Verner is an associate professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health (DSEST) of the School of Public Health of the University of Montreal (ESPUM), and a regular member of the Public Health Research Center (CReSP).
Marc André Verner’s research program cuts across the fields of toxicology and environmental epidemiology. He is particularly interested in analyzing the risk linked to exposure to environmental contaminants in pregnant women and children. His current work includes exposure measurement by biomonitoring in various populations, pharmacokinetic modeling, and in vitro-in vivo extrapolation. Its expertise relating to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) is regularly requested; he notably served on a committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) to issue recommendations to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in connection with the medical monitoring of populations exposed to PFAS.
